for Alberta's ELCC director, supervisor and leadership community. (Although our primary member community is Calgary based, we welcome supervisors and directors from anywhere in the Province!) From free online events to in-person lunches, our goal is to help make it less lonely at the top. Membership is always FREE!
Our network makes peer connections for anyone who is a current or past owner/operator, manager, director or supervisor in a commercial childcare facility in Alberta, Canada. We are based in Calgary.
We also welcome instructors and faculty from ELCC training programs in Alberta, members of our regulatory bodies, management staff from childcare-related service and support providers, and dayhome agency managers.
Life can be lonely in childcare leadership! Many of us are running operations, managing staff, making business decisions, and maybe even teaching as well. When we're waist deep in day-to-day challenges of operating a childcare facility, it's a breath of fresh air to talk to others in similar roles in our city who 'get it'.
The Director's Network focuses on peer connections in a non-competitive, 'it's just lunch' style environment. We enjoy in-person lunch gatherings once a quarter, childcare facility tours, online discussions, and social events. You RSVP for the ones you'd like to attend. When I took a position in 2019 as a childcare director in Calgary, I wished for mentors and peers that I could learn from. During my networking efforts, I realized that many of us were navigating the same operational management situations and wishing we had others to brainstorm (and commiserate!) with. This network is the result! I am still growing and learning, and am excited to get to know you - I hope you can join us at future events.
